Important Reminders, Updates, and Other Information

  • Reminders:
    • The NJ Striped Bass Bonus Program is now open.
      • Please visit the SBBP webpage for application instructions and additional information.
    • All club members are reminded and encouraged to patronize our club sponsors! These businesses support our club via donations of prizes for our fundraising raffles! Please make sure to return the favor.
    • Please remember to renew your NJ Saltwater Angler Registration at http://www.nj.gov/dep/saltwaterregistry/
    • We meet at 7:30 PM the first Friday of every month at the Women's Club in Manasquan, NJ. 

 

    • Snag treble hooks made with circle hooks were verified to comply with striped bass regulations as per NJ DEP Conservation Police Officer Robert Henderson.

      • May 3rd 2024 (Friday)  - General Meeting - Guest Speaker: Tim Ferrie, Pilot's Association,
        Topic: Fishing Sandy Hook & Navigating Around Container Ships
      • May 4th 2024 (Saturday) - NJ Fluke (Summer Flounder) Season opens. 3 Fish over 18"
      • May (Saturday Date TBD) - Manasquan PBA Youth Fishing Tournament (Mac's Pond)
        • Hosted by Manasquan PBA
        • We support the event by attending, weighing fish, awarding prizes, etc
        • Ages 3 - 13 years old.
        • Registration starts at 8 am and event wraps up around noon after presentation of awards. 
      • May 19th 2024 (Saturday) - Governor's Surf Fishing Tournament at Island Beach State Park

        • If interested, let Luis Cadalzo know as we may organize an MFC group to coordinate. 
      • May 21st 2024 (Tuesday)- Back Sea Bass Trip
        • Queen Mary - Point Pleasant Beach
        • All spots are full - if you have reserved a spot your $120 is due by 3/1/24. 
        • There is a backup list in case people drop out. 

      • June 7th 2024 (Friday) - Doug Zemeckis, Ph.D. (Rutgers University), Topic: TBA

      • June 11th 2024 (Tuesday) - MFC River Fluke Tournament
        • 12 pm to 5 pm, rain or shine.
        • Rules: Fishing restricted to the Manasquan River, from boat or from shore. 
        • Weigh-in and picnic will follow at Manasquan Recreation Annex Building at 6 PM. 
        • Entry $40/person (includes fishing fee and picnic)
        • For anyone not fishing but wants to attend the picnic $20/person.
        • Open to all Club members, their families, and one non-family guest (per club member) over 18 years old. 
      • July 5th 2024 (Friday) - General Meeting - Speaker Topic TBD

      • July 25th 2024 (Thursday) - MFC Ocean Fluke Tournament
        • 11 am - 4 PM, rain or shine. 
        •   Rules:
          • Fishing by boat is restricted to the area from the northern edge of Sea Girt Reef to the southern edge of the Axel Carlson Reef. 
          • Shore-bound anglers can fish the Manasquan Inlet or ocean from the beach and jetties. 
          • Fishing on a morning "half-day" party boat trip is also eligible. 
        • Weigh-in and picnic will follow at Manasquan Recreation Annex Building at 6 PM. 
        • Entry $40/person (includes fishing fee and picnic)
        • For anyone not fishing but wants to attend the picnic $20/person.
        • Open to all Club members, their families, and one non-family guest (per club member) over 18 years old.
