The Main Street Business District Streetscapes Project is a beautification, revitalization and safety improvement project that extends along Highway 71 from Abe Vorhees Drive north to the northern terminus of the CVS parking lot, and on Main Street from the intersection of Highway 71 east to the NJ Transit railway.  The project will include upgrades to traffic lighting, signage, pedestrian crosswalks, sidewalks, lighting, benches, bicycle racks, trash cans and other appurtenant features as well as landscaping and vegetation.

Project Goals: 

*Beautify the Borough's East Main Street Business District
*Promote pedestrian travel through the Borough
*Provide more accessible routs for pedestrians
*Improve existing pedestrian facilities in the Business District

Improvement Features:  

*Walkway improvements and beautification with stamped and colored concrete
*Intersection improvements featuring new traffic signal with pedestrian crossings at East Main Street and Union Avenue (Routr71) intersection
*Improved pedestrian facilities including luminaires, curb ramps, and benches
*Roadway surface improvements
*Improved greenery including trees, shrubs, planters and grass areas
*New decorative bike rack in front of Borough Hall
*Decorative walls including a new "Welcome to Manasquan" sign
*Decorative trash and recycling receptacles throughout Streetscapes Project

Schedule & Updates:

This project is scheduled for mid to late 2024.
